Zune 2.0 and Flash Zune Details Leaked

Zune fans would be flattered to know that Zune 2.0 and Flash Zune will be arriving later this year. This story was leaked by the Zune Scene Editor who met an undisclosed Microsoft employee working on Zune while on a business trip.

Zune 2.0 will be similar to the first generation Zune, but it will be thinner. It will also have a larger hard drive with the same doubleshot. The Flash Zune will be 3 inches by 1 ¼ by ¼ inches in size. It can play videos and 75% of the front will be covered by the screen. It will include WiFi hardware and doubleshot.

It is rumored that the design phase is over, but few last minute hardware tweaks are yet to come. No word on the memory capacity or the pricing has been revealed, but it is said the nearly 2.4 million Zunes will be manufactured by the holiday season and two thirds of these will Flash Zunes. It is also believed that Microsoft is building a Zune production facility near the existing Xbox 360 plant in China. In other words, Toshiba won’t produce Zune 2.0

They are doing this for the sake of competition, I would like to something like the iPod Nano which is small in size, but includes a jumbo display and plays videos. Just an unconfirmed report, let’s wait for something official by Microsoft.
