Orkut Albums may be updated soon!

Google has recently updated their robots.txt file and have added Orkut albums in the disallowed list. It is always noted that whenever, Google adds any service in the robots.txt file. Then either they launch a new service or they upgrade any service.

So, we can expect that there will be some upgrades in the Orkut albums in the near future. But, as Garret rogers has pointed out that it will be great if at all, Google can integrate Picasa Web Albums with Orkut Albums or make it something like Facebook Albums (which is really really cool!)

So, all you orkut users, what do you expect in the Orkut albums ? Any new feature or do you want the restriction of 12 photos to be removed. What suggestions do you have for Google?

  • Wow is been quite some time since that change came about and I do believe that its a great deal easier showing your photos to family and friends now.
  • Actually, there is no proof about this tampering of images... just forwards that say so.
  • Well, Even I agree that there are many people who are making Orkut a bad place. As Thilak said, that too many community requests, people tampering with images of girls and lots of stupid activities.
However, we need to look at the positive sides of it as well.

@ Ashish : It looks normal but we can expect that it will be changed in near future. We can just hope that the integration happens :)
  • Ashish: That's certainly true. I get so many requests to join their communities. You won't believe me, but some folks are running a contest of making friends.

I have created a Gmail filter which kills any community requests
  • I still like the normal looks in album. Orkut is slowly growing into spammy social group
