Famesource is a self promotion social platform for people to broadcast their talent around the world to be judged, critiqued and voted by the community of fans. You can create descriptive profiles and upload videos, photos or audio under various categories and sub-categories for your audience. Alternatively, you can also embed videos from your favorite video sharing website, such as YouTube, Revver, and Clipshack.
In return, audience can vote for talents using “Fame†or “Shame†buttons and can add themselves as a fan of the talent they like. Just like Digg, users with the highest number of votes can make it to the frontpage, where they will receive enormous attention and the fame they need. Additionally, Talents with the combination of highest votes and fans will be considered as “Featured Talent†under each category. These “Featured Talents†will get extra attention on the frontpage, as they will get a prominent location there.
Users who fail to receive the deserved exposure can buy their way to the “Wall of Fame†using a pseudo-currency called Famebucks. These famebucks can either be bought using Credit Card/PayPal or by getting featured on the site. Fans can also donate famebucks to their talents.
Famebuck is a great idea, it would have been even better, if users could have withdrawn famebucks as money through check or paypal. That would provide a strong incentive for users to love Famesource.

Tanu: No.. I haven’t posted about it on this blog. However, I wrote it on my other blog, here’s a link to that post. It’s still live. Infact, I have even mentioned that it was a prank.
