Google just raised the curtains from TestTube, a place for engineers and developers to test new features for YouTube. Two of the upcoming YouTube initiative – AudioSwarm and Streams are already available for testing.
AudioSwarm can swap the audio track of your video and replace them with legal soundtracks composed by various artists and other record labels. Artists in return will get free attribution on your video. This is not a feature which everybody might use, but it’s still a win-win feature for both users and artists.
On the other hand, Streams is cool new initiative where users can build YouTube rooms to share and interact with other users in real time. It’s like a playlist with a chatroom where users can add videos and talk about it. Offtopic or inappropriate videos can be removed by moderators to control the quality of the room.
If you are someone like me, who loves to play around with beta or upcoming projects, feel free to try out these two initiatives. As usually, you are expected to return with feedbacks, comments and bugs (if any).
