LG Phones to be preloaded with Google Apps
Google has teamed up with LG Electronics to deliver millions of phones with preloaded Google Apps. These apps will be preinstalled only on selected models and will be shipped to North America, Europe and Asia somewhere around second quarter this year.
The LG-Google handset will offer one click access to Google through the phone menu. Other Google Apps to be preinstalled include Google Maps which enables users to see maps, satellite imagery and get driving information, Gmail App to send/receive emails on the move, Blogger for mobile to upload pictures and text to your BlogSpot blog.
LG will unveil atleast 10 new phones with Google Apps in 2007. With mobiles being the next big platform for players like Google, Yahoo and Apple, it’s not surprising to see they team up together. Previously, Google and Samsung had a similar deal. Even Yahoo and Nokia shook hands to deliver Yahoo content in Nokia phones. Probably, this would temporarily kill Google Phone rumor.
