The Twitter mania meets with social bookmarking with TwitThis. It is similar to other social bookmarking icons which you see at the bottom of blog posts across thousands of blogs. Clicking on the TwitThis button lets you share the URL with your Twitter contacts on-the-fly.
TwitThis compress the word count of the link by crunching it through TinyURL, so that they fit within Twitter’s 140 character limit. They provide code for bloggers and webmasters to add TwitThis button on their site. For Wordpress users, they have a plugin which helps integrate TwitThis on your blog. Additional, you can also use their bookmarklet in your browser.
Smart implementation, this should really add up and promote Twitter like a flame. However, I’m not a big fan of social bookmarking buttons below blog posts, but it’s a necessity, that is exactly why I have installed Share This plugin from Alex King here.

Since Twitter is quite popular I’m sure we’ll be seeing this on a lot of blogs soon. It won’t be on mine though. I’m using Sociable by Peter Harkins.

I love twitter, but i’m wondering how overrun it will become if people start doing serious social bookmarking in it. I think that’s why we have del.icio.us and the others. I’m all for mashing, but this seems like it’s prone to get out of control.

BEST ADVICE

3.Interact with twits you relate to, enjoy, can benefit you in some way (like with their amazing knowledge of the real estate industry), or those that are just fun to YOU.
4.Follow the twits that follow you…unless they are spammers.
5.Don’t over-tweet. It’s annoying. Seriously. I could name names, but you know who you are.
6.Don’t share too much. (TMI) EX: When you’re having the mole on your *** removed.
7.Provide resources or items of value.
8.Be creative and have fun with it!
9.Take advantage of apps for streamlining your tweets. (Check out Friendfeed, Twhirl, TwitterBerry)
10.Add a Twitter widget or bling to your blog for easy access to your tweets and to gain new twits
