Jimdo is an easy-to-use website creation service, just like Google Page Creator and Weebly. Once you register with Jimdo, you’ll receive an email which contains the password and homepage link (like thilak.jimdo.com). Unlike competing services, there is no dashboard or management page. Instead, all editing is done within your homepage itself. You’ll notice a login link at the bottom of your homepage. Logging into your homepage will transform it into WYSIWYG editing mode, where you can easily change layout, add/remove text and images.
Additional features include password protected pages, newsletter system, a guestbook and photo gallery. Jimdo is available in both free and pro version. JimdoFree is ad supported and gives you 500MB of storage space (5 times as much as Google Page Creator). Ad free version of Jimdo is priced at 5 Euros/month and includes 5GB of storage space and domain name to host your pages.
However, in this age of blogs, it’s rare to find people who still use tradition homepage. Most folks today prefer blogs over homepages. Jimdo’s Matthias showed me some of the feedbacks from users. It seems like users simply love it!

I think that people who aren’t comfortable with using blogs or content management systems will probably like this service. The 500 meg storage and the WYSIWYG editor will probably be the biggest reasons for using it.
