TwitterMap is a wonderful mash-up between Google Maps API and Twitter Feeds to show location based Twitter messages, giving you a rough insight of where your Twitter friends come from, or discover new friends based on their geographic location. TwitterMap can only show the last 100 tweets in the locale. You can add yourself to the map by sending a tweet that includes ‘L:’ followed by your location. Examples: ‘Going to the office. L:3000 6th Ave, New York’. Additionally, you can also predefine locations to quickly change your locations.
For those who have not heard of Twitter, it’s a community of friends and strangers, all asking one single question: What are you doing? You can answer them via SMS, IM or on the web. So far, Twitter has been quite an addictive among web users.
GeoTwitter is similar mash-up, check it out. Are you on Twitter? Add me as your Twitter friend.
