Mobileburn forum revealed some details over Google Phone. Google has apparently tied up with Samsung to design Google Phone. This information was leaked by someone participating in the paid survey program by Google; he has uploaded a screenshot of the survey page at Flickr. The screenshot looks somewhat valid, but still the story might not be trustworthy. However, the spec seems to be quite reasonable with 3G, Wi-Fi, 2 megapixel camera and a QUERTY Keyboard.
The phone looks like a typical Samsung Design. This may or may-not be the final design (do you remember? Same happened before iPhone was released). If Google comes up with something like this, Apple will undoubtedly get a market rival. I bet the guy who leaked the screenshot will be fired from the paid survey program.

I have to say it looks nice and cool though, just that it looks something of a cross between a SAmsung and Nokia phone.

Seems everyone is running in the mobile world … Apple with iPhone then Microsoft with ZunePhone and now Google!
Anyways, pretty cool thing and good to know that it is not a rumor!

I wonder it will be multi-function to what extent. A mobile PC?

I don’t quite like the design, especially when the cover is closed. Looks like something drafted out just for the survey.

[...] LG will unveil atleast 10 new phones with Google Apps in 2007. With mobiles being the next big platform for players like Google, Yahoo and Apple, it’s not surprising to see they team up together. Previously, Google and Samsung had a similar deal. Even Yahoo and Nokia shook hands to deliver Yahoo content in Nokia phones. Probably, this would temporarily kill Google Phone rumor. [...]

Here is some interesting info: “Google Phone is based on a mobile variant of Linux, and is able to run Java virtual machines. All applications that are supposed to run on the Google Phone are Java apps. The OS has ability to run multimedia files, including video clips. There is a special browser which has pan-and-browse features that are common to modern browsers such as browsers for iPhone and Symbian phones. The entire browser is apparently written in Java. Initially there was one prototype, but over past few months Google has the mobile OS running on 3-to-5 devices, most of them likely made by HTC, a mobile phone maker, and all have Qwerty apps.”
