Life Saver of the Day: UserHealth

Usually, we spend several hours in front of the computer without taking any breaks. This addiction can badly affect our health. Doctors and eye specialists suggest taking frequent breaks to reduce eye strain, but who cares? Userhealth is a small freeware which keeps a count of your keystrokes, mouse clicks and computer uptime. It periodically sends popup alerts you to take breaks, or go to bed. Userhealth is both a virtual doctor and a mother. If you stay up late at night, you can set Userhealth to call annoying mother and she will sit at the bottom right of your screen and suggest you to go to bed. If you fail, she might even turn off your computer.

Keeping track of your daily uptime, keystrokes and mouse clicks can be quite fun. Sometimes the count might get unbelievably high. For folks like me, who usually spend blogging whole night, this software is a life saver. My keystrokes have reached 1200 within 15 minutes! I’m curious to learn your stats, share it through comments below. It might not be long before Doctors start prescribing this freeware :P

Thanks Anirudh, you’re a hero!

Madhur, Izzatz: What if the program automatically turns your computer off?

  • http://www.izzatz.com Izzatz – xiii

all software act on our decision.. it will not turn ur computer off unless u make it to do so..

for example, if u set the program to shut down after few days of uptime.. n it surely will shut down ur computer as it has been command..
