Flickr Adds Collections – The Set of Sets!

Flickr Pro users can conveniently organize their photos into unlimited number of sets. As a pro user myself, I create a new set for every damn thing, but with the growth in number of sets, important sets gets unburied under not-so important sets. This makes it a bit itchy to find photos.  Finally, Flickr realized the problem and they have a solution called Collections. Collection is for sets, just like how sets are for photos. In short, Collection is the ‘set of sets’.

You can organize all your sets into 5 different collections, each set can be put into any number of collections. Collections can be created from the ‘Sets and Collections’ tab found inside Flickr Organizr. Flickr Collections look visually different from sets by using mosaic style icon. You can randomize or customize this mosaic from the Organizr itself. Additionally, You can change the layout of your messy photos from this page.

Flickr Collections for non-pro users doesn’t make any sense as they can only create upto 3 sets. Anyway, if you haven’t upgraded to a pro account, then do it today! You’ll get unlimited storage, unlimited Bandwidth, unlimited Sets and few more for just $24.95.
