Most text editors thesedays lack support for encryption. Even if they do, a separate module for encryption and decryption is required. For those concerned with Privacy, Steganos Locknote is a free (Open Source), standalone text editor which uses CryptoPP to offers AES 256bit encryption. Locknote weighs only around 300kbs and no installation is required, which makes it comfortable to carry Locknote in portable drives.
You can type your text or drag and drop your .txt files and save the encrypted file by adding a password. Encrypted files cannot be read, unless you have Locknote and the provide password. This makes it convenient to broadcast text files across the internet.
Steganos doesn’t support images or word documents, this is probably the only down point I see. If you carry sensitive information like passwords and telephone numbers in your portable drives, then don’t carry it without Steganos Locknote.
Thanks for the tip, Abhishek Bhatnagar

Thilak why doesnt your logo have a link to the homepage. I am used to sites that allow that feature and so I am automatically forced to click it.
I hope you will take my suggestion into consideration.

This could be pretty useful in that you can encrypt sensitive data you are sending by e-mail or posting on the web.

Why not you try Keepass to store your passwords?
I really like it personally.
