Yahoo! Answers Gets Social Components

Yahoo just added social component called ‘Answers Network’ into their insanely popular Answers Service. Answers Networks allows you to grow your network of friends on Answer service by adding your favorite Yahoo Answers users to your contacts list, so that you could see the questions asked, answers and stared Answers by him. Perhaps, you could also add someone who provided the best answer to your question or shares the same passion or interests as you do. You may also invite your other friends from out of the network, so that you could mutually benefit by helping each other responsibly.

There is no link between Yahoo’s other social networks, you can’t add your contacts from Flickr or Delicious into Yahoo Answers. Yahoo says they did this deliberately because those who are good at photography might not be good in sharing knowledge or answering questions.

Answer Network would probably add more life in Yahoo Answers by making it fun and more enjoyable experience. Good to see Yahoo moving in the path of Web 2.0 by adding social components into their existing services.
