Skype 3.1 Beta for Windows now comes with a cool new feature which lets you charge people who are calling you, rather than you paying for the call. The feature has been named Skype Prime and customers can either be charged minute-by-minute or by one time access few. Skype believes that this would open up a whole new business model; perhaps you could even use the service to start your own tech support over phone.
Skype Prime works only for Skype-to-Skype calls and both the expert and the called must have latest version of Skype. All calls are free by default, but later switched over to paid mode. Once the paid call is initiated, the appropriate amount of SkypeOut credit is transferred to the providers account. The provider can’t utilize the cash as SkypeOut credit, but the money can later be retrieved via PayPal, which I believe is one of the best features of Skype Prime.
Skype Prime is globally available, assuming that PayPal is available in your country. Inorder to become a Skype Premium provider, you need to download and install latest version Skype 3.1 Beta for Windows and go to the ‘Tools’ menu and click on “Earn Money from Skype Primeâ€.
Thesedays, I have been giving advice and suggestion over Google Talk, maybe I can generate some revenue by starting a tech support line on Skype, but I hardly use Skype. Other uses of Skype Prime might include Sex Calls, Music Station etc.
