Since last couple of weeks, I’ve been received numerous emails from Tagged, a new social network. I tried to unsubscribe myself using the “unsubscribe from tagged†link at the bottom of their email, but it didn’t work. I finally decided to go off the way and see what was wrong at Tagged. When I tried to sign up with tagged, I was forced to give my Gmail username and password to send invite to my Gmail contacts. Surprisingly, there is no option to skip this step. I really pity on those who really give their username and passwords to such social networks.
Amit Agarwal seems to have a similar problem, he tried marking their email as spam, but still their spammy invites continued to flow because Tagged sends email from the user’s address. You can create a filter in Gmail to delete all mails which has “Tagged you! :)†in its subject.

Or, if your email service provider doesn’t support filters, you can do it in your email client. Tagged is not the only spammy social network, earlier there was Gazzag which flooded our inboxes with similar emails.

How could you share your account info with anonymous, at first place?!

Hey I survived their test… I have been getting this for past 1 year or so and finally I decided to try last week… when they asked me to enter the email id and password, I simply closed the tab and opened another tab and logged in to see what its all about without giving my credentials.

You e-mail should be unsubscribed by now. Outgoing mail at Tagged got really backed up late last week and over the weekend, so you might have received messages long after the application sent them. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Johann: Sorry for the negative post, but I got pissed off when I woke up last morning and found atleast 30 - 40 emails from Tagged. You should add an option to skip that step (to give away our GMail username and password). Maybe that’s how you can get back into business.
