Yugma is a cross-platform collaborative tool for your online meetings. It’s nothing new, I’ve been reading about Yugma across many of my favorite blog, but I never bother to give it a try, until folks from Yugma approached me and asked for a review (no, this is not a sponsored post). Let me start:
Yugma (pronounced “yoog-ma”; Sanskrit word meaning “together”) is a free real-time web conferencing tool which includes desktop sharing as well. With Yugma’s free service, you can invite upto 10 other users per web session and you can use. It works for both Windows and Mac, but unfortunately they don’t support Linux yet. Yugma has a robust set of collaborative features such as real-time desktop sharing, annotate whiteboard and change presenters.
Yugma offers both free and paid service, detailed comparison between free and paid service is available here. Yugma doesn’t need any client or any other software, it’s a java based, but you do need to download Yugma inorder to use it. I’m unlikely to use it in future because java based apps almost kills my browser ever time they load. Perhaps, a desktop client for Yugma would have been better.
The combination of Web conference and collaborative tool makes Yugma, a one big killer web app. Give it a try!
