Google Apps Goes Premium

Just as anticipated, Google launched the paid version of Google Apps called Google Apps Premium for business or professional use. The premium package is priced at 50$ per account per year and premium users will get goodies such as 10GB email storage space, option to turn off relevant ads, access to their API and round the clock tech support etc.

Good news is that Google Docs and Spreadsheets have been added to the big list of services. Google Apps will continue to offer two separate free versions, Standard Edition – The one which we used so farEducation Edition – Offers API access and 24/7 tech support.

One more noticeable change is that Google Apps for your Domain has been rebranded as just Google Apps. See the detailed comparison between free and premium version of Google Apps here.

Google is giving you an opportunity to test drive premium editor for free until April 30th, after which, you’ll have to upgrade or switch back to standard edition.

Thanks to all those who sent email to inform me.

I think Premium Google Application more suitable for business purpose
  • $50 a year is quite cheap for a great service like that. If I had a business I would definitely do that.
