Digg Will Start Adopting OpenID

TechCrunch reports that Kevin Rose made a big announcement at the Future of Web Apps conference that Digg will start adopting OpenID, the open decentralized digital identity platform. In the recent past, OpenID has been gaining some momentum after big boys like AOL, Microsoft and other small Web 2.0 startups extended their support to the platform.

Digg’s adoption of OpenID won’t begin right away, according to Kevin, the adoption will begin “later this year”. I really welcome this announcement from Kevin, because with OpenID users can use the same login info across variety of websites.
