Dell Pays Tribute to Digg with New IdeaStorm Site
Days haven’t passed after the Yahoo – Digg episode and Dell has already launched its own suggestion site called Dell IdeaStorm. It looks quite close to Digg, but the idea is no way related to promoting stories.

Why does Dell need a suggestion site?
According to the blog manager of Direct2Dell, they receive numerous emails with ideas and suggestion. Dell Ideastorm is a platform for customers to share their voice and get it votes.
Dell IdeaStorm is a combination of message board and Digg to bring out top ideas. Topics with higher votes move up and topics with lower votes move down in the community. Each vote is counted as 3 points and users don’t need to login for voting. In their blog post, Dell admits that the idea is based on Digg, but will it satisfy the Digg Mafia? Since anonymous voting are allowed, Digg fanboys won’t even have to register to spam the suggestion site. Let’s hope that Digg fanboys behave good with Dell Ideastorm and won’t repeat the earlier incidents.
On the other side, Ajay highlights the side-effects caused by Digg Mafia on Digg. Recent incidents like Hacking Netscape, then SuperGu and Yahoo Suggestion Board has thrown Digg reputation into the dustbins. Who will buy a community with hackers and badboys?
