Gmail Open to all?

In the past, we’ve read endless rumors which suggested that GMail had opened up universally. Once such incident occurred back in December when 2800+ Diggers dugg an article which said that Google had opened the registration to everyone. In fact, it was only released in Egypt.

Today, I received a comment from Mik which contained a link to the working sign-up page. I tried it myself and it really worked (atleast here in India). No invite, no cellphone required! I have a screenshot, just incase Google pulls the plug. Is it working for you or is it just me?

Thanks: Mik

Update: Haochi confirms that the above link works in UK, but doesn’t work in US.

  • not working for malaysian!
  • If you add together the number of invitations everyone has, it's pretty probable that the number of GMail users can increase exponentially. Which is pretty crazy, because that's exactly what the invitations try to prevent :D
