ibibo, a relatively new blog/photo hosting service is hosting The Great Indian Bloggers Hunt. The total prize money is 1,55,40,000 Rupees (approximately $3,49,333). The contest is open to all Indian Citizens above the age of 18. You’ll have to start a blog and earn points (These points depend upon various factors like frequency of posting, comments on other blogs and popularity ranking). Each month the top 100 bloggers will take away the cash prize as follows:
- Each and every one of the Top 100 bloggers wins prizes totaling Rs 1,55,40,000.
- The Top Blogger wins Rs 6,00,000.
- Bloggers ranked from 2 to 10 win Rs 3,60,000 each!
- Bloggers ranked from 11-30 win Rs 1,80,000 each!
- Bloggers ranked from51-100 win Rs 90,000 each!
The idea is to promote Indian bloggers to migrate to their blog hosting service. In my opinion, everybody stands a chance to win in this contest; it doesn’t really matter if you’re a newbie because all hi-profile bloggers won’t be participating; mainly due to the fact that they will be busy with their own blogs and they won’t migrate to ibibo.
Here in India the term “blogging†is not so popular, but I’m happy to see the blogging population grow with competitions like these.
