Apple Stripes "Computers" from It’s Name

Apple on Tuesday announced that they would be stripping the word “Computers” from their name. From now on Apple Computers Inc will be just Apple Inc. The brand name change doesn’t really mean that Apple will be moving away from computers, it just symbolizes that their core business would be shifted towards non-computer things like iPod, iPhone or AppleTV.

This change can be reflected on Apple’s website footer. Now it reads “Copyright © 2007 Apple Inc. All rights reserved.”

  • Yep, Apple is about to unload on us with electronics as well as continue computers...

Apple is really making a comeback, I am glad to see it. Competition is a wonderful thing... it keeps companies aiming to be the best and that in the long run is better for the consumer.
  • Ya, the name change signifies a shift of focus at Apple from computers to consumer electronics.
  • Yeah. Nice thing done by apple as Apple's iPod, iTV, iPhone where not a part of computer.
