YouTube is Coming to Your Living Room

At the Consumer Electronic Show held at Las Vegas, YouTube vice-president Kevin Donahue leaked out the his company is thinking of broadcasting a cable TV channel based on the YouTube content. He said:

“We haven’t gone down a specific road yet. We’ve had a lot of conversations with networks that want us to do shows, companies that want us to do linear YouTube channels We’re more in strategy phase right now.”

In my opinion, devices like AppleTV can serve as a link between computers and TV. Content from any video hosting site like YouTube, Google Vides or MetaCafe can be streamed onto the big screen with such a device. As of now, improving user experience of its website is their top priority. However, I would still love to see a YouTube content based traditional TV channel.
