blogging must not be your first priority you must first finish studies so you will have more options for your future.

quitting your studies for blogging is not a good choice. and yes blogging will give you incomes but finishing your study will give you more than that.

I won’t make blogging a career anytime near because I don’t make any money from blogging . Simple. I’ve been writing for 6 months at http://www.webmaster-dome.com and get just $2/month.

And, I think degrees do have a position superior to knowledge. I mean, face it. In this world, when you go for a job, they ask for degree first and as Ajay said, knowledge (unfortunately) is second.

And, even if Joshua Porter has written an interesting post about Blogs as resumes (http://bokardo.com/archives/th.....ew-resume/), I don’t agree to it. Atleast now ? Thoughts, anyone ?

Well as we all know, two sources of income is better than one. So just continue your study while you were blogging. It might save your unknown future. We cant predict what will happen next.

I think what’s important is to have your education ‘under your belt’ first. That way you’ll always have something to fall back on if other things don’t pan out the way you expected.

Besides, you shouldn’t study ALL the time. You need a break to allow information to sink in. During some of those breaks you could be updating your blog.

Well done Thilak on making your living through blogging however.

Knowledge is certainly more important than degree, coz’ one can find few degree holders morons on nearly every corner…har shaak par ulllu betha hai!
But hey…this world still needs credentials.
And if you are not a good looking blogger then you are in for some troubles if you dont have a degree…Bye the way Amit once did a post on few good looking lady bloggers
But still blogging should be promoted in schools and colleges as it will certainly open up the new breed like us.
Open us toward more and more knowledge and also make us more expressive. You can see that change in yourself….

Yes Ajay. I agree with you. When you go for a job the evaluator asks for the degree and not the knowledge. Some people by their chance get very good job without a degree but all the people don’t have that chance. isn’t it

Ajay :: At a pint, you are right. If I apply for a job then they will JUST want my merit degrees, not my knowledge. But again, if I want to make blogging as my career or open my own company … !
At a conclusion, if you are 101% to make blogging as your career, then you dont need any degree or merit certificates. Just the knowledge inside the BIG BRAIN!

I agree totally about knowledge and degree not being the same. But, when you go for a job they don’t know ask you how much you know, because first they want that “degree” and a good rank there. Next comes your knowledge.

Blogging has its plus points, but I believe that unless you’re making enough from it and when I say enough it should be enough to be able to take care of yourself and your family, then by all means quit.

It will too early for that,Some might be successful but its still a concern in indian environment.May be in 4 yrs it can grow as a carrier but by that time there will be lot of competition.

You are right! I too blog and earn enough money for my expenditure but leaving studies…its a hard matter!

Maybe I can make blogging my career if my blog gets more popular and I start getting more revenues.

I didnt agree on the thing Amit said about “Degree” … knowledge matters, not a degree!

But yeah, studies for me until I reach 12th !
