At Macworld, Steve Jobs revealed some details about the long awaited AppleTV (formerly know as iTV). Its a home entertainment device which takes iTunes stores onto the big screen by synchronizing iTunes content from a single computer and streaming it to five other computers or television.

The home theater device comes with a 40GB hard drive and supports 802.11b/g and even 802.11n for wireless streaming, Ethernet is also supported. Along with videos, photos and music, the device can also stream content from sites like Apple.com.

You can auto-stream unwatched or recently purchased movies to the device and it will be saved in its hard drive. Widescreen TVs shouldn’t be a problem because AppleTV includes HDMI connector and resolutions upto 720p. For audio, AppleTV has RCA as well as digital outputs.

AppleTV is priced at $299 (13,270 Indian Rupees) and will start shipping in February.
