Gobits – Ajaxy Online RSS Reader

Gobits is a light weight online RSS reader which makes use of an AJAX interface to deliver a desktop RSS reader like feeling.

Gobits AJAX interface allows you to change the width of sidebars and reading column. You can create you own feed where you can publish your favorite article by simply dragging and dropping your favorite articles into it or you can also share your favorite feeds by sending it through email to your friends.

Gobits doesn’t have any preference or option to show/hide news which are already read, but this shouldn’t really be an issue for those who subscribe to under 50 feeds.

Some of the Key Features:

  • Smooth, advanced Ajax interface, making it easy to find and organize the best news.
  • Keyboard shortcuts, drag & drop, pull down menus and more!
  • Easy publishing of your favorite articles and news sources through the web.
  • Annotate contents of your favorite articles, helping others understand what is relevant.
  • Easy broadcasting of your own RSS feeds so that the world can subscribe to your news.
  • Built-in email to allow you to easily send articles and news sources to others.
  • You can change the width of columns for smoother reading, but one thing missing out of Gobits is to show/hide feeds which are already read. Overall, Gobits is a cool RSS Reader, but it still needs some refinement.

Online RSS Readers are better than their desktop counterparts because they give a mobility to access your feeds from anywhere. For me, FeedDemon will continue to serve as my Primary RSS Reader and then I have Bloglines as a backup, just incase something goes wrong or if I’m on the move. Gobits is cool, give it a try

  • Thanks for pointing that out, I was looking for a reader. Chad, that sounds way more difficult to me buddy but to each his own ;)
  • Chad: Haha.. You must be kidding me!!
  • It may be just me, but I've never been into the RSS reader tools. I just add all feeds to my Google homepage and grab new posts from there. I guess I'm just looking at all of these RSS readers as an additional site to log into.
  • Yeah. Nice tool.
