Anirudh: No, They aren’t forcing them to send the laptops back. Read:

â€œFull disclosure – while I hope you will blog about your experience with the pc, you donâ€™t have to. Also, you are welcome to send the machine back to us after you are done playing with it, or you can give it away on your site, or you can keep it. My recommendation is that you give it away on your site.â€

Vyoma: Yahoo wanted to gain some respect from Bloggers, so they organized BlogCamp, now Microsoft wants to gain some, so they are sending laptops to few of them. Its completely unethical, I feel

The laptop looks good and so does its specs. But it is the OS that they load with it and the ones who are sending it in the first place that irks me.

But I prefer not to rant more here even though I am in quite a bit of nasty mood for undisclosable reason because I might be then tagged with the “those grapes are sour” kind of person.

Jokes aside, this does seem ambigous in terms of ethics and I do not want to say more than that.
