Maps are very useful when it comes to planning trips or getting directions, but Google Maps doesn’t have such detailed maps for India. MapMyIndia is a free map service just like Google Maps, Yahoo Maps or MapQuest but with an Indian geography.
MapMyIndia also offers city maps, street maps, route maps, driving directions, eLocations and a business locator for India. They also have a mobile maps portal (paid), but you can try it for free till 31st December.
MapMyIndia is missing out features like Satellite and Hybrid Maps which Google Maps offer, but MapMyIndia covers even the tiniest cities in India.

Yes. Map My India is a good service. But if Google Maps enters India and starts giving this service for India then Google will be more popular than Map My India .

Mapmyindia has another cool named eLocation.
eLocation allows you to get maps and directions to a place, it gives you the directions in the words of a person.
(take a left after you see a panwallah, go inside that gate…take another left when you see a temple, thats how people explain directions in India).
