Blogger Moves Out of Beta

Good news to all those blogger fans who have been waiting for Blogger to come out of Beta. Now you can migrate your blog to the new version of Blogger which has some cool feature like Labels, Instant Publishing, Drag and Drop Template customization with new font and color option along with a cool looking Dashboard.

I can finally say that Google’s Blogger is trying to compete with other blog hosting services such as Wordpress, Typepad and Movable Type, but its still lacking Trackback. Anyway, I’m not a Blogger user, so I’ll rely on your comments.

I’m very thankful to Blogger because I was introduced to blogosphere through Blogger. Majority of blogs seen in the blogosphere are hosted on Blogger which includes some well know blogs such as Amit Agarwal’s Digital Inspirations and Alex’s AMCP Tech Blog.

Did you know: Blogger was owned by Pyra Labs before Google acquired it on February 2003.

  • Flammae: Thanks for the update.
  • The new Blogger is very good, and compared to the old one, it is extremely good. It lacks though tools for measuring traffic and feeds, which is one of the great things of Wordpress.

The lack of trackbacks is not a real problem because they have something called backlink. But you can not send trackbacks, which is annoying.

I think that the improvements put it back to fight, after having worse features than competitors for long.
