PayPerPost Now Obeys Disclosure Policy

PayPerPost started off a new concept of paid blogging where bloggers compensated for writing articles on various topics. PayPerPost advertisers set the guidelines like image must be included or only positive coverage will be paid. Moreover, PayPerPost didn’t allow blogger to disclose that it was a paid post, readers were unable to figure out whether the post had received any compensation from the advertisers. This created a fire in the blogosphere.

PayPerPost has now made a significant change to its term and participants need to disclose to their readers that they have received compensation from advertisers. The disclosure maybe may be in the form of a site wide disclosure policy or on a per post basis

PayPerPost CEO, Ted Murphy said: “Proper transparency for WOM marketing has been an ongoing balance for our members and an issue with little legal precedent. Although the FTC was petitioned and recently declined any formal action against buzz marketing practices we believe the marketers and bloggers in our marketplace will benefit from today’s Terms of Service updates.”

I think, regardless of whether your writing a paid post or not, bloggers need to be honest at all times.
