We’ve seen MS Paint clone hosted on Google Pages, but Fauxto is something different from what we’ve covered so far. Fauxto is an online photo manipulator which boasts features such as Layer Adjustments, Filters, Movable Marquees which can usually be found only on expensive photo editors such as Photoshop.
Along with opening files from your computer, you can also draw images from scratch. Fauxto’s tabbed interface makes it convenient to edit multiple images simultaneously. Surprise, Surprise, you can even open a picture from an remote URL. Once your done, you can save the image to their server and start distributing it.
Fauxto is built using Flash, but surprisingly its only about 9 seconds to load on my 256K line (I’m shocked). Fauxto will serve as a portable replacement to Photoshop. They are following a YouTube like model with no ads or whatsoever. Its nice to see everything move online thesedays.

It can be very useful when you are in any cyber cafe where no photo editor is available.

Yeah. I have bookmarked Fauxto. You can preview my bookmarks at del.icio.us/phalgun . Hey a question that comes in my mind is that why Fauxto is providing free service i.e. without any ads. Just like DivShare.

It does seem a commendable program. Have to give this a good shot before I blog about it, possibly Saturday Service…
