Internet Explorer 7 Optimized for Google

We all know that Google is promoting Firefox, we also know about Yahoo’s optimized of IE7. Now, Google is also offering an optimized version of Internet Explorer 7 which includes Google Toolbar.

Internet Explorer Administrators Toolkit (IEAK) makes it easy for developers to customize IE7. Both Yahoo and Google are applying a common strategy by promoting IE7 on search results (as sponsored listings).

Surprisingly Google had copied Yahoo’s IE7 site layout. This news broke out on TechCrunch and Google responded immediately by changing the layout of their page. Ouch, its such a embarrassment for Google, maybe Microsoft supplied similar campaigning material to both Yahoo and Google (lol..)

Majority of surfers use IE 6 and you won’t believe me, but there are quite a few hardcore Internet Explorer fans out there (lol..), Google is just trying to convince them to upgrade.

    Down with IE!

I say use FireFox or Opera! IE is giving me problems designing my new theme for Splat! I need to postpone its release due to last bugs cropping up for IE.

But you are right, there are a lot who still use IE.

r9studio: Yeah, I must admit that Firefox is still my first choice. Have you tried SearchStatus Extension which stimulates Alexa Rankings ?
