Blu-ray Drive Laptops Arrive From Dell

Dell has started shipping Laptops with Sony’s Blu-ray burners. Dell was one of the founding members of the format. Currently the blue-ray drive is available on their high performance gaming laptop XPS M1710 which starts from $3,699 upto $4249. Users can view high definition videos and will be able to burn blue-ray disks upto 50GB in size.

According to Gizmodo’s Review of M1710, The model which is priced $4249 boasts a Intel Core 2 Duo T7600 processor running at 2.33 Ghz, 2GB of RAM, 100 GB HDD, Windows Media Center, 17 inch Widescreen TFT, 512MB NVIDIA GeForce Go 7950 and weighs around 3.95 kilograms.

M1710 is really a dream machine, I can’t imaging watching a Blue-ray movie on a 1920 x 1200 screen. The race between HD DVD and Blue-ray is still running, so lets just keep our fingers crossed at the moment.
