Alex Tew, a million dollar man behind the insanely popular Million Dollar Homepage who generated million dollars in a few months by his new pixel advertising concept where pixels were sold for 1$ each. It was huge success and he sold his last 1000 pixels on eBay for 38,000 to wrap it up.
TechCrunch reports that he is coming back again with Pixelotto which is schedule to go live on December 5th, 2006. This time its $2 per pixel and he is running lottery where the winner who clicks on the right pixel ad gets one million dollar. Alex has sent emails to his previous customers to reserve their pixel ad before the rush begins.
With a chance to win million dollars, visitors would be randomly clicking on ads and make advertisers happy. Pixelotto will surely repeat his previous success. He has found the right lane to success, its just money, money, money…

Following the success of the MDHP, there have been spawning many, many copies of it. I’m not sure if this one will succeed amidst all the competitors.

So everyone’s heard of milliondollarhomepage.com which made $1,000,000 in just 3 months for student Alex Tew. Now he has unveiled his second business venture…… pixelotto.com.
The site works by selling squares of 10×10 pixels of ad space for a whopping $200 each. Then, each time someone clicks on a particular ad they increase their chance of winning the prize of $1,000,000 once the adspace is full. That’s right, this time he’s giving away $1m to a lucky ‘clicker’ and the other $1m will be used to keep the site running.
I do not doubt that he will sell all the ad space in the matter of 1 month, and will indeed make someone a millionaire, and like his last venture, anyone who can afford to buy adspace on his site will benefit from a surge of traffic to their site. But it’s the small print that sets alarm bells ringing.
With the last site, you got the same deal for half the price. $100 for a 10×10 pixel ad. The ad would then be on the site for 5 years, if not indefinetely.
This time however, it is implied in the ‘rules and regs’ that for your $200 you do not get ad space for 5 years, but instead for only a month after the ad space is sold out. Judging by the interest already mounting even before the site is launched (launch date december 5th) I’d say that ads will be displayed for a maximum of two months before the homepage is wiped clean and Alex gets his paws on another $2,000,000 of advertisers money.
Come on Alex, impress us. How about a little originality with the next BIG idea that you promised us, and a little less greed.

PS: Hey Steven. Didn’t know you read this blog, heh heh.

okay so this seems like it would be very easy to win if like 500 of us worked together as a team…all we have to do is sign up as players and each player is assigned 10 ads to click every day until all of the ads are being clicked every day and then the million is split evenly among us by whoever wins…sounds simple enough to me
