After Newspaper Ads, Google is now preparing to move into Radio Advertising. Earlier in January Google had bought dMarc (A radio advertising agency) for $102 million and rumors suggest that Google is now hiring employees and plans to publicly test its Audio Ads by the end of this year.

Google is also said to be in discussion with Clear Channel Communications to purchase $1 billion of its advertising inventory. Similar to all other Google ads, participants can upload audio ads through the same web based AdWords interface.

Good to see Google make a transition into the offline advertising market, but I would still like to see Google as a Search Engine Company and not as a Advertising Agency. Maybe someday your kids might see a small ‘Ads by Google’ text below your neighborhood sign board.

  1. It should be interesting to see if it will take off. I wrote a post about it on my site, but I think since everthing is moving online it is smarter to stay there..

  2. Jason: When everybody wants to move online, Google wants to step behind.

Dude, your simply exceptional when it comes to business.

BTW, I wonder why your comment was caught by Akismet, Since I had Captchas installed, I could save your comments right on time.

  3. There is nothing new about what Google is doing here. This is simply the dMarc Broadcasting pitch repackaged/rebranded as Google. I suspect there’s more to come. Let’s hope so. More about this in my blog post from earlier today.
