Creating a Job Board for your Blog is as Simple as 1,2,3

Recently we’ve seen a Job Boards frenzy among some top class bloggers such as Darren Rowse from Problogger. Darren was the first one to start a Job Board for his blog, but now we see Job Boards springing up like weeds; TechCrunch, GigaOM…. and lots of others have their own Job Board.

Job Boards attracts lots hurry job seekers and this can make money spin. You charge only the Advertisers and not the readers, so this adds up and as a bit of value added service to your blog.

JobCoin makes is absurdly simple to add a job board to your site. The idea is simple, just get an account, setup a job board, set your price, add the widget or link in your blog. Easy isn’t it ?

JobCoin a free service, you need not pay anything to start a Job Board, but they will take 30% out of your revenue (i.e if you sell a job post for 100$, JobCoin will take 30$ and you’ll  receive 70$). All payouts are made through PayPal.

Creating a job board might be easy, but finding the right advertisers is damn hard. If everything works well, its a real money making machine. Have a look at my TechBuzz Job Board, its still empty because it just took off this morning. Anyway, I’m not really serious with this new Job Board, but if your interested in posting a job, my contact form is always open

PS: No credits to anyone, I found it through CSS Mania.

  • Yes, kind of. The lowest price you can set on your job board is $25. But you can create coupon codes for any price, including $0. Most people use these to offer discounted pricing to a select group of people, or to run temporary promotions. But if you wanted to offer this to everyone, that is totally up to you.

Generally we advise to keep at least a minimal posting price on the board. This helps to keep people posting relevant opportunities (and of course, prevent spam) plus, it makes it clear to everyone involved that the board is a place they can expect to receive value from.

But the decision is ultimately up to you. And if you have any feedback on the subject, I'd love to hear it!
