Microsoft has officially decided to cut off Windows XP SP1’s support and all users are recommended to switch over to SP2. No more security updates will be issued for that version of XP. Service Pack 1 was released on September 17 2004, according to the company’s policy, they are committed to provide support only upto 12 months for service packs, but since this was a major update they decided to extend support for two more years.
If your still stuck in Windows XP SP1, then you can obtain SP2 free of cost from here. I guess MS will kill Windows XP’s support over a course of time, once Vista stabilizes. Do you think that this is a fair practice? Comments are open, I’ll be happy to read them (if you have any)

Mobilizing the machine. Same thing happened with Windows 2000, and its sad (in my opinion) that there are still Windows 2000 machines still in use. But, its the only way to phase out XP to the point where PC users will need Vista…and even THEN…Im quite sure that XP will still remain a fav for the tech savvy people.

Yeah, I’d surely agree with you, Even if Vista releases, XP will still remain hot favorite
