Issues with Democracy for Wordpress

If your using Democracy Plugin by Jalenack.com to run polls on your blog, then now its time to switch over to some other poll plugin because Democracy will decrease your pagerank by creating multiple pages with same content. And we all know that Google hates Duplicate content.

Alternative to Democracy:
Lesterchan has developed a nice alternative called WP Polls. Its quite nice plugin, I was using it in the past without any problems, Now I’ve stopped running polls on this blog because I don’t have enough room for Polls in my sidebar ;)

  • like we actually voted! :-P previously the poll was so lost in that crowd of the 3 column barss, we barely noticed if it was there ! heh
  • Thanks for the info! I've had Democracy on my site for a a month or so, and didn't realize there was any sort of problem with it.

It looks like Andrew (at Jalenack.com) is just about to release a fix, so now I'm not sure whether to wait for the fix or try WP Polls instead... hm...
  • The problems with D1.2 are much bigger than SEO. Serious XSS exploits in there as well.
  • I'm a little late reading this. I was actually using wp polls but switched over to democracy. wp was giving me bunch of problems.
