Apple Sells Movies on iTunes

Just as we all expected, Apple CEO Steve Jobs officially announced that they will sell movies on iTunes store. Initially customers will have access to 75 films and more films will be added each week, but currently only movies from Disney are offer.

Customers can pre-order movies for $12.99 USD (which may later rise upto $14.99 USD), where as old movies are available for $9.99 USD. Unlike Amazon’s Unbox Video Service, Once you download a movies, you can keep it forever, but they cannot be burned onto a DVD for watching on a TV.

Movies would offered in near DVD quality resolution (640×480) and comes with Dolby Surround Sound Track to enhance your viewing experience. However iTunes will be offering movies for US Customers only. Hopefully they will expand this service to international customers sometime next year.
