Yesterday Apple announced two new variants of iPod with 60% brighter screens, they also revamped entire iPod Nano and iPod Shuffle lineup.

The new iPod is said to have better battery life, 30 GB iPod can play video for 3.5 hours, whereas 80GB iPod is capable of playing continuous video for 6.5 hour. Other new features include instant searching by letter and gapless playback. Apple has also added support for new games in iPod, users can buy Games from iTunes for $4.99 USD. The new headphone which Apple has been developing for the past 18 months is finally available and comes box packed with new iPod.

The second generation iPod Shuffle come in a full metal body with white click wheel and a USB 2.0 dock with 12 hours of battery life. The new iPod Nano is available in three models: 2GB silver for $149, 4GB in any color except black for $199, and a 8GB black model for $249 USD.

Instant Search by letter should make navigating much much easier, it was on my wishlist for the past 3 months. I’m eagerly waiting to see the new Headphone from Apple. But 8GB Nano is priced as same as 30 GB iPod !! Does that make any sense ?? One of my friend bought a 60 GB iPod yesterday, he is very disappointed because prices have sharply dropped :(
