Finally Amazon unveiled their long awaited Video Download and Rental service called Unbox. This new service offers Television Shows, Movies and other videos of rent as well as purchasing.
TV shows would cost $1.99 USD, Movies prices range from $7.99 USD to $14.99 USD and $3.99 USD to rent a movie. Each hour of Video would be approximately size around 1.2 GB and you could watch movies immediately while you download (This is better known as Progressive Download).
Videos downloaded from Unbox could be viewed from Amazon’s Player (PC) or portable devices. But unfortunately Unbox videos can be played only on Windows XP and not on Macintosh or iPod because because it uses Windows Media DRM technology.
Fine Prints: Once you rent a movie from Unbox, You have 30 days before it automatically deletes itself, but if you start watching the movie, you have only 24 hours left !!
I would prefer to go to a Movie Theater rather than purchasing or renting movies from Unbox. There also rumors floating around that Apple is also preparing a similar full length movie downloads for iTunes.
