Its because Vista doesn’t contain in a single CD, even if they intent to make a CD it would be around 5 - 6 CD which come with a bit extra cost.

I don’t think it would even enter setup stage on your system. 512 is just mininal, maybe you need to have 1 or 2 GB DDR 2 along with 3 Ghz Dual Core CPU + a DirectX 9 compatible graphics card to run it on high performance mode.

BTW even my Laptop is vista compatible, you might have noticed it in a pic on my flickr gallery
However I don’t won’t use Vista Full time, But its still worth a try
