No-WWW Plugin for WordPress

Recently I spoke about WWW vs Non WWW and the Page Rank Splitting Issue. Today when I was in the process of restoring my favorite plugins, I accidentally deleted my .htaccess file, I tried to make mod_rewrite work, but for some strange reason it didn’t work. So I was in a search for an alternative and then I landed on Matt’s No-WWW plugin page.

No-WWW is a damn simple plugin which remove www prefix from your URL and sets a 301 redirects it to non WWW URL. This will prevent your Page Rank splitting into two domains.

Installation:

  • Download No-WWW Plugin
  • Unzip it and upload it to [Wordpress Root]/wp-content/plugins
  • Go to Plugins in your WordPress Admin Panel and activate it
  • Done !!
