Lycos today announced the launch of their new email service named Lycos Mail Beta . Its mainly targeted for users who transfer large files and Lycos Mail currently offer a huge 3 GB of storage space under its free plan. It has absolutely no restriction on File Size (which mean users can send unlimited files size as attachment). Undoubtedly it ad supported (Google Adsense to be precise).

However the user must login atleast once a month to prevent his account from being deleted. Users can upgrade to 5 GB Storage space with no ads for 19.95 $ per year.

The free plan sounds cool, but it didn?t quite impress me. Unlike GMail it doesn?t support POP Access. But its surely a contender for the best email service.

Thanks: Alex
