The Open Source Web Browser, Firefox marked 200 Million Downloads on Monday. This feat was achieved nine months after Firefox 1.0 hit the market.
But 200 million doesn’t actually mean Firefox has 200 million users because some users might have downloaded it multiple times or the download may not have been complete or the user may have switched to other browsers like Opera or IE.
As of now (while writing this post) Firefox has been downloaded 200605710 times. This count includes both Firefox 1.0 and 1.5. Firefox will pose a serious threat to Microsoft’s Internet Explorer. Currently Firefox is working on Firefox 2.0 which may be released by the end of November. It will compete head to head with Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 7.
Haven’t switched over to Firefox ? Go get it now !!
