Still can’t get to work,won’t share win. pppoe.Says no go after scan. Any genius’s knowledge know how or other ways to connect.Can only say learning slowly but shorely

I executed the command you listed and it disabled my wireless. I have ubuntu 9.04. Any sugestions?

SUDO PPPOECONF IS WORKING IN MY KUBUNTU

I will tell you the procedure ,go to the terminal and type sudo pppoeconf and enter .It displays the login password ,when you enter the password the cursor won’t move and does not display your password and continue and enter the key you get the blue screen click ok and it will scan concentrator and click ok and you get the username of your internet
please erase the username and type and click ok and you get password of your internet and type the password click ok till it come out
and check your internet it will work now

Also having trouble connecting with newly installed Ubuntu. Cable modem. Internet works when I switch back to XP. Thoughts?

I received the same problem a few times. till the penny fell and i plugged my network cable into my notebook.

What can also be the problem is different IP ranges.

try pinging the router and see if you get a reply.

Hi I tried sudo pppoeconf. I’m getting an error message as follows. Request your advice to get connected to net via kubuntu

Error Message: Sorry, I scanned 1 interface, but the Access
Concentrator of your provider did not respond. Please
check your network and modem cables. Another reason
for the scan failure may also be another running pppoe
process which controls the modem
