Since couple of days my Blogger friends been complaining that they can’t access blogspot blogs, because they have been banned in India and Pakistan.

I personally didn’t have any problem with Blogger (in India) because I use Onspeed Proxy

According to Jeethu and Amit, Reliance Infocom, MTNL, Star Hathway, Tata Internet Services and Airtel have already blocked Blogspot blogs in India

Why did they do so ?

On Friday, Department of Telecommunications of India had sent a list of site to be blocked which included some blogspot blogs to some of the major ISPs in India. But it looks like they blocked the entire Blogspot Domain.

How to Access Blogspot Blogs ?

You can still access Blogspot blogs using anonymous like www.proxify.com. I suggest you to read Amit’s article about Accessing Blocked sites [ You can still access the link, because it my furl cached copy]

Will it affect my readers ?

If your using Feedburner to Syndicate your blog’s content, then it won’t affect your readers.

Do you think this is a good move by Indian Government ?

Update: My ISP (BSNL) has also blocked Dataone. I extremely dissapointed by this move by my ISP

  3. @LcF: Yeah, I read that Post yesterday on your blog.

  4. I wont take so long the ban to be lifted, as amit of Digital Inspiration posted a new article in his blog that in past the yahoo groups are also been banned and lifted in a week time…

  5. Try

    http://www.hideu.net to access blocked websites.

Hideu is a free web-based anonymous proxy service, which allows anyone to surf the web with privacy and security. There is no software to install, and it is completely free! By using HIDEU, you can surf websites but hackers or website owners cannot identify or track you. The service hides your IP address, and it prevents monitoring of your network traffic.
