Load Images From Cache in Firefox using ImgLikeOpera

Yesterday I was discussing some Advantages and Disadvantage of Firefox over Opera with Syn. I asked her if there was a extension which allows me to load images cache just like Opera. So she told me about ImgLikeOpera.

ImgLikeOpera is a very useful Firefox Extension which comes in handy for non broadband users and Bandwidth Restricted Users (Dataone Users) like myself. It allows you to load images from cache without downloading, saving both Time and Bandwidth. You can set forced expiration time from 3 min to 3 months.

Some other features include:

  1. You can set one of policies for each tab:
    • don’t load images;
    • load cached images only;
    • load images for the originating Web site only;
    • load all images.
  2. (re)load image from context menu or Ctrl+rightMouseClick
  3. Filters

Works with Firefox 1.5 – 1.6, Click here to Install

    imglike opera is handy coz its resides in the status bar and by default it will give u the option wat kind ogf images u\'d like to load which makes the webpage hell lot faster. dont believe me try surfing thru www.softpedia.com for downloads with all images and without images.. u wud be thanking heavens for imglike opera.

    why in opera the idea is not useful is coz each time u want the page to show different type of image like cached or not...u\'d have to go to settings and change it and admit it doing that for every site suxs big time. with this extension in FF u can do the same process in one click! how cool is that !!!!!!

    :) danke danke
  • Yeah, I agree with you. But there are some features which Opera doesn't have.

    So I am happy with Firefox :)

    cache-no-view image in opera is better that extension in firefox
    because ?for example ?i open www.tech-buzz.net by opera(cache image).next i open some other link of this site.(for example:
    10 must have Firefox extensions for Web Development).then,new
    link open (from cache image)too.
    but,by this extension i must(again) adjust handy for view page from cache.
    I hope you understand my purpose
