Windows Live “Call for Free”

Windows Live Call for Free Beta has been launched by Microsoft. It allows Windows Live Local to calls bussiness when searching Live Local. After clicking the “Free Call” link a too the bussiness is intitated and then the call is forwarded to the users number. Currently this service is available only in United States.

My two cents:

This is a good move by Microsoft. Google might be testing a similar product for their AdSense Products

Well, actually google has a very similar free service ‘clicktocall’. It allows user to get free call back from google and get connected to the business support just by clicking a link in Google Maps or adsense ads.

Just started using this feature of ‘Live Call’ 5 days ago, and I’m very impressed. I’ve used my cell only twice in that time; Live Call is only charging me 2 cents a minute, and that’s much cheaper than the two mobile services I use. My contacts have remarked how clear the sound is. I’m no fan of Microsoft or Bill Gates…but this is a BIG winner for me.
