Who says that Footers are always Ignored ??

I’ve seen most of Adsense Gurus and Big time Adsense publishers tell that horizontal ad formats like Leaderboard and Banners are always ignored.

That too placing them in your footer would really make them worthless.

But what happened to me is exactly inverse of what they say. Yesterday I was experimenting with Adsense and placed a bulky Leaderboard ad on my footer.

And when I woke this morning, I was surprised to see the it had already outperformed other ad units. The CTR rate was considerably high (about 7 % !!)

Conclusion: Leaderboards and Banners are ignored only if you don’t blend them into your site.
